Description
They reached the carriage-drive of Toad Hall to find, as the Badger had anticipated, a shiny new motor-car, of great size, painted a bright red (Toad's favourite colour), standing in front of the house. As they neared the door it was flung open, and Mr. Toad, arrayed in goggles, cap, gaiters, and enormous overcoat, came swaggering down the steps, drawing on his gauntleted gloves. ? Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows.

Made in England and a charming chap for your garden, this dapper 'Toad on the Road' ornament is based on the motor-loving and eccentric character of "Mr. Toad", one of the friends whose idyllic adventures were shared in ‘The Wind in the Willows, by Scottish novelist Kenneth Grahame. First published in 1908, the characters detailed lived in a pastoral version of Edwardian England.

Sadly a little headlight was broken off the car but it was still there and I was able to repair it before giving Toad and Moley as gifts

Very pleased with this addition to garden ornaments. I already had Mole, Badger and Rattie bought from local Garden Centre. Really happy to now have the full Wind in the Willows set.
