Leaf Bottle Top Candle Holder

Hand-crafted leaf iron candle holder with a richly antiqued gold finish, echoing the decorative metalwork of the Arts and Crafts designer John Pearson (1859–1930). Pearson trained under the architect and designer Charles Robert Ashbee (1863–1942) at the Guild of Handicraft in London before going on to work with the Newlyn Industrial Class in Cornwall, where he became known for richly repoussé copper and metalwork drawing on naturalistic marine and foliate motifs, embodying the movement's ideal of the skilled individual craftsman over industrial manufacture. Cleverly designed to sit securely on the top of a bottle, it turns an empty wine bottle into an instant candlestick. Fitting for any lover of Arts and Crafts design, or for the host who enjoys a good dinner party. Takes a taper candle, not included.
