Traditionally used as closures for garments, netsuke evolved into an increasingly intricate form of decorative sculpture from the 17th century. Expertly crafted from hand-carved boxwood, this striking miniature turtle ornament makes a handsome addition to any shelf or study, particularly grouped with other netsuke.
