Glass Angel

Handcrafted spun glass angel festive decoration with gold painted detail, inspired by the Christmas ornaments originating in Lauscha, Germany during the mid- to late 19th century, considered the birthplace of the glass Christmas ornament. The glassblowers of Lauscha, began producing silvered and hand-painted glass baubles, figures and ornaments around the 1840s, initially sold at local markets before their fame spread, partly through the enthusiasm of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for the German Christmas traditions that captured the Victorian imagination. A beautiful and delicate gift for anyone who cherishes the art and history of the decorated Christmas tree. Presented in a box with a clear plastic hanging loop, measuring 9 x 5cm.
