Desk Globe Trio

Trio of decorative desk globes recalls the Victorian fascination with geography and exploration, a passion fuelled by imperial expansion and scientific discovery. Globes became popular educational tools and ornamental objects in 19th-century homes, symbolising knowledge and worldly sophistication. Inspired by the globes of Martin Behaim (1459–1507) and Gerard Mercator, pioneers of early cartography. Mercator’s 1569 world map revolutionised navigation with its projection method, still used in nautical charts today.
