Blue Iris Vase

Porcelain vase reproducing Blue Iris by Japanese painter and print designer Ohara Koson (1877-1945), reflecting the refined imagery of the late Meiji and Taisho periods. Koson worked within the shin-hanga, or new print, movement, combining the elegance of Japanese bird-and-flower design with a softer naturalism influenced by Western watercolour and the international taste for Japanese prints.
