Description
Named for James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan (1797–1868), this oatmeal Merino wool cardigan features a contemporary fairisle pattern. The fairisle technique, originating in the Shetland Islands, became a symbol of rural craftsmanship and was popularised by the Prince of Wales in the 1920s. Crafted with a Fair Isle pattern on the front yoke and top of the sleeves, with a ribbed shawl collar, full-length sleeves with ribbed cuffs, faux leather button fastening, and patch pockets.
