If at First T-shirt

Burgundy cotton T-shirt with a witty observation by American sportswriter Bill Lyon (1938–2019): "If at first you don't succeed, find out if the loser gets anything." Lyon spent much of his long career at the Philadelphia Inquirer, where his columns on sport were prized as much for their humour and warmth as for their sharp observation, earning him a reputation as one of American sports journalism's most beloved voices. His gift for finding the wry, human angle in victory and defeat alike made him a favourite among readers well beyond dedicated sports fans. Printed in England, a cheerful gift for anyone who takes their sport, and their setbacks, with a sense of humour.

Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
