An advent calendar with a literary twist to make counting down to Christmas a treat. A colourful design, highlighted with gold foil details, presents a festive collage of 19th and early 20th century books arrayed on a festive bookshelf, mixing seasonally-themed-titles drawn from the stacks of the 26 Oxford libraries now making up the Bodleian, founded by Sir Thomas Bodley in 1602. Spot the 25 numbered doors hidden amidst intriguing titles, including ‘The Romance of a Christmas Card’, ‘Nancy’s Country Christmas’, ‘Is There a Santa Claus?’, ‘The Crime of a Christmas Toy’, and more. Each day opens onto a colourful sticker reproducing a festive illustration, from botanical studies of holly and Father Christmas’s sleigh, to Japanese winter landscapes and illuminated manuscripts. Simply peel the stickers from the card backing to re-use as decorative accents on cards and presents.
