Set of 2 Deco Floral Journals

A set of two elegant journals to make keeping organised beautiful. Showcasing two stylised floral details based upon designs by great names of French Art Deco interior design: Édouard Bénédictus (1878-1930) and Suzanne Guiguichon (1901-85). The geometric flower-design reproduces one of the 40 colourful pochoir plates published in 1930 by Bénédictus as ‘Relais’, all of which presented flowers in unusual and distinctly modern style for use in interiors and applied arts. The second design is adapted from a floral carpet created by Guiguichon in 1925 and now part of the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. The design, entitled ‘Jardin du Suzanne’ is from a lino print by contemporary Felixstowe artist and printmaker Clare Curtis, commissioned by the Museum for a series of artworks inspired by their treasures. With luxurious foil-stamped and embossed covers highlighting colourful details in shimmering shades, the journals are also practical with convenient magnetic side flap closures, two ribbon bookmarks and a pocket inside the back cover for receipts or lists.
