Flower Fairies Calendar

‘So small, so blue, in grassy places / My flowers raise / Their tiny faces’, Cicely Mary Barker (1895-1973)
An enchanting wall calendar reproducing twelve of the much-loved ‘Flower Fairies’ illustrations by English artist Cicely Mary Barker (1895-1973). Published from 1923, the series depicts botanically accurate floral art with fairies: each fairy being a portrait of a child who attended Cicely’s sister’s nursey school. Each month includes a verse, which accompanied the illustrations in Barker’s hugely popular books. Includes fairies of Winter Aconite, Rose Hip, Almond Blossom, Lavender and Sweet Pea. A delight for lovers of British illustration or who grew up with the beloved books.
