A fascinating and detail-filled jigsaw puzzle which reproduces a playful pictorial map of ‘London Town’ from 1938 by British artist and illustrator Kerry Lee (1902-88). Designed as a poster for Southern Railway, seeking to attract visitors to London by train, the map features city landmarks, architectural details of churches, palaces, bustling markets, tree-lined parks , Underground stations, mainline railway stations and the River Thames from Westminster to the Tower of London. Full of intricate annotations, the map celebrates central London’s history, connections and amusements. Surrounded by a decorative border, which includes an image inspired by the royal procession for the State Opening of Parliament, as well as shields emblazoned with symbols for countries, such as South Africa and Australia but also historical curiosities such as Ceylon, Burma and the Irish Free State. This sustainable British-made jigsaw includes a handy image guide and is made from thick recycled puzzle board and a low-glare finish, making puzzling a pleasure as the city comes together at your fingertips.
