Description
A challenging mathematical plywood puzzle inspired by the discovery in 1901 of an ancient Greek artefact on an ancient shipwreck. Known as the ‘Antikythera mechanism' and often referred to as the world’s first known analogue computer, the original function has been the subject of theories ever since. Using technology that was lost to antiquity until the 14th century, this baffling mechanism is thought to have been used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses, as well as the 4-year cycle of the Olympic games. Turn your mental cogs and solve the puzzle inspired by the shape of the mysterious original by turning the four ‘dials’ of the five layers until all 12 number columns add up to 42. A tactile number challenge to keep hands and brains busy for hours.
