Description
A challenge worthy of Jean-François Champollion (1790-1832), who unlocked the phonetic and ideographic meaning of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs: can you arrange seven wooden tiles so that the hieroglyphs on touching sides always match? Each hexagonal wooden tile is printed with six hieroglyphs and requires puzzlers to crack the code to place each the correct position on the wooden base-plate. Created in chunky and tactile wood and plywood, the mental cogs will turn as you rotate each piece to find the solution. While it took Champollion from 1819-22 to make his decipherment breakthrough, the puzzle’s box includes a solution scroll so you needn’t struggle in vain.
