Description
Victoria and Albert Museum
A jigsaw puzzle which reproduces twelve exquisite ceramic tile designs by leading Arts and Crafts potter, artist and writer William de Morgan (1833-1917); now part of the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. From Iznik-inspired motifs of carnations and tulips; to songbirds, rabbits and sunflowers, the colourful tiles capture the broad range of de Morgan’s design influences, which mixed Middle Eastern design with medieval influences, the natural world and Renaissance patterns. Including examples of his red lustre tiles and ‘fantastical’ birds and creatures, such as a peacock and fish, the panel is full of absorbing details to keep a puzzler happy for many hours as they piece together the intricate design. The jigsaw puzzle includes an image guide and a space-saving, compact box for storage.
