Coming from the Mill Jigsaw

Lowry
An evocative jigsaw puzzle reproducing L.S. Lowry’s (1887-1976) atmospheric painting ‘Coming from the Mill’, 1930, from The Lowry Collection, Salford. Capturing the bustle of city workers at the end of a shift, Lowry is said to have been inspired by a scene he witnessed, having missed a train at Pendlebury railway station, just as the Acme Company’s workers emptied from the mill: ‘I watched this scene,’ Lowry later wrote, ‘which I’d looked at many times without seeing - with rapture’. Presented in plastic-free packaging and intended for ages 13+, puzzlers will delight in the ‘matchstick men’ and women, the details of children playing football, a horse-drawn cart and the industrial cityscape looming above.
