Van Gogh Museum & The Musée d'Orsay
A landmark book filled with sumptuous illustrations and expert essays to bring to life the creative outpouring of Post-Impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh’s (1853-90) final months while living in Auvers-sur-Oise, May-July 1890. Producing 74 paintings and over thirty drawings in the last seventy days of the artist’s life, discover the mature period of this artist’s work through portraits, landscapes and still life; including ‘Road with Cypress and a Star’, ‘Chestnut Trees in Blossom’, ‘Portrait of Doctor Gachet’, and ‘Wheat Field with Crows’ to name only a few. Richly illustrated with colour reproductions as well as historical photographs, letters, sketches and maps of the places van Gogh worked. Published in association with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and The Musée d'Orsay in Paris to accompany a joint exhibition which ran in 2023-2024; the book is a delight for any admirer of van Gogh and especially if they were unable to visit the galleries in person.

This gorgeous book came protected in cellophane and as it is a gift I cannot leaf through it but it looks superb from the descriptions on the website and I know this will be treasured by the recipient who has studied art history.
