Richly illustrated the book presents a chronological selection of nostalgic colour photographs with informative captions spanning 1959-68; all captured by three railway enthusiasts from the Seafield Railway Club in north London. Mixing imagery of locomotives, carriages and working freight cars, the photographs cover railway sightings across the former London, North Eastern, London Midland and Scottish Railway lines. With glimpses of sheds, points, stations and more, the collection showcases Class A3s, A4s, Jubilees, Black 5s through to the ‘Fifteen Guinea Special’ organised by British Rail as the last standard-gauge passenger service hauled by a steam locomotive.
