This edition presents, in large-format, a selection from the English-language edition of that work, published as ‘The Holy Bible, with Illustrations by Gustave Doré’, 1866-70. Including all 81 New Testament engravings, 93 of the original 139 Old Testament images and 10 plates from the Apocrypha, this new collection brings the modern reader closer to the fineness of the engravings, each accompanied by the powerful poetry of the King James Bible text of 1611. This sumptuous edition includes decorated page edges and a handsome gold foil-stamped cover.
