Savour the form and delicate tones of 44 elegant botanical illustrations and then add colour to create your own artworks interpreting the exquisite art of Alexander Marshal (c.1620-82). Reproducing 44 botanical plates from Marshal’s masterwork, a florilegium of 600 ‘plant portraits’ compiled over thirty years and now part of the Royal Collection. Presented as full-page illustrations, reproductions of each original colour plate is set side-by-side, on the facing page, with a black-and-white outline to finish with your own colouring. Discover auriculas, tulips, roses, irises, sunflowers, honeysuckle and a host of other beautiful flowers. Some illustrations also include Marshal’s depictions of creatures and insects, including a porcupine, guinea-pig, dogs, ducks and caterpillars. Printed on good-quality paper, suitable for variety of colouring media: whether it is pencils, crayons, or gel pens. Please note the paper is not recommended for felt-tip pens.
