2 Chimes of Big Ben Cards

Two evocative sound-chip cards to mark birthdays and special occasions with the sonorous ‘bongs’ of Big Ben. Open the card to hear the clock strike two ‘o clock. Officially known as the Great Bell, ‘Big Ben’ is the nickname of the largest of the five bells in the clock tower and was cast in 1856. The bell tower itself was designed by Augustus Pugin (1812-52) and completed in 1859; it became known as Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Having been, mostly, silent for five years while undergoing extensive refurbishment, it is hoped that the sound of the chimes will ring out again in 2022. Eagle-eyed visitors to London will also notice the clock face has been restored to its original Prussian Blue and gilt colour scheme.
