Instone Pendant

Silver pendant set with moonstone, tourmaline, citrine and blue topaz, based on a design by Bernard Instone (1891-1987), who trained under the Arts and Crafts jeweller Arthur Gaskin and carried the movement's naturalistic silver tradition into the 20th century with a sustained refinement and delicacy. Instone's work belongs to the great tradition of British Arts and Crafts jewellery that sought, in deliberate opposition to the mass-produced jewellery of the Victorian trade, to restore to the making of personal ornament the qualities of individual craftsmanship, natural beauty and human feeling. Natural stones may vary. Mixed stones lend the pendant soft colour and delicate Arts and Crafts character.
