Description
Floral brooch celebrating the daffodil, a flower long associated with renewal and hope in British culture. The motif recalls the Victorian fascination with floral symbolism, popularised through works such as Kate Greenaway's (1846-1901) illustrated language of flowers. Jewellery featuring botanical designs became fashionable during the 19th century, reflecting a romantic ideal of nature and craftsmanship. This costume brooch continues that tradition, and is hand-enamelled and based on an Edwardian design.
