Bold black enamelled and crystal-set costume brooch recalling an Art Deco design by the American jewellers Trifari, who became renowned for their stylised enamelled work under the celebrated designer Alfred Philippe (1889–1965), whose decades at the firm produced some of the most sought-after costume jewellery of the twentieth century.
