PRODUCT DETAILS
Description
Glass paperweight celebrating the water lily, the flower Claude Monet painted for decades in his garden at Giverny. Monet bought Giverny in 1890 and transformed its garden into the setting for his famous water lily series, painted between 1896 and his death in 1926, works that moved increasingly towards abstraction. The glass paperweight tradition, revived in 19th-century France by makers such as Baccarat, Saint-Louis and Clichy, has always suited floral subjects, preserving a bloom in clear, luminous stillness. Crafted in Scotland by Caithness using traditional techniques.
