Description
Floral paperweight capturing the vibrancy of a poinsettia, known as Flores de Noche Buena or “Flowers of the Holy Night.” From the 17th century, Franciscan friars in Mexico incorporated poinsettias into Christmas celebrations. The star-shaped leaves are said to symbolise the Star of Bethlehem, the red leaves represent Christ’s blood, and the white leaves signify his purity. Its festive use is also linked to the Mexican folk tale of Pepita, a poor girl whose humble gift of flowers was miraculously transformed into bright red poinsettias. This Poinsettia Paperweight is crafted in Scotland by Caithness Glass.
