Description
A tactile glass robin ornament handmade in a droplet shape by the skilled glassblowers at Teign Valley Glass in Devon, where studio glass has been created with traditional care in their Bovey Tracey studio for over 35 years. Deep red, white and brown glass-tones are melded to create flecked details and a smooth finish, the stylised form echoing the artistry of 1890s bird sculptures by the French brothers Auguste and Antonin Daum. A charming addition to a Christmas display, or a small paperweight to enjoy all year round, a delightful gift for any lover of studio glass or British wildlife. A beautifully finished ornament (or paperweight?), which is already giving great pleasure. Perhaps rather on the expensive side, I feel - This would be even more attractive at £8 or 10 less!
