Pretty hand-enamelled and crystal-set box with pierced work top featuring a blue butterfly, recalling the work of Art Nouveau jewellers such as Georges Fouquet (1862–1957). Fouquet was one of the defining figures of Parisian Art Nouveau jewellery, his pieces, combining the movement's characteristic sinuous forms and use of enamel, horn, semi-precious stones and baroque pearls in settings that deliberately blurred the boundary between jewellery and sculpture.
