PRODUCT DETAILS
Description
An engineering challenge with a fun 340-piece kit to create a model of the loco and tender of the iconic Flying Scotsman, LNER number 4472. A beacon of modern achievement, Flying Scotsman represents a Golden Age of British ingenuity. The original A1 class loco was built in 1923 in Doncaster to a design by Sir Nigel Gresley (1876-1941). The iconic locomotive made the first non-stop service from London to Edinburgh in 1928, made possible by the use of a new corridor tender allowing for seamless crew changes on non-stop runs. With tools and step-by-step instructions included, create your own c.41 x 9cm model using a metal construction system which recalls the original ‘Mechanics Made Easy’ system (later becoming ‘Meccano’) patented by Frank Hornby in 1901.

This kit was intended as a Christmas gift for my husband. I selected standard delivery Royal Mail tracked. Although I received a notification of despatch, the item did not arrive. No tracking number was supplied and customer services could not tell me what had happened to the parcel, leaving me to source a similar gift at very short notice. Under the circumstances, I would be very reluctant to use this company’s services again. On the plus side, I did receive a prompt refund.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience caused by the missing parcel. We understand how frustrating it must have been, especially as this was intended as a Christmas gift for your husband. We’re glad you received a prompt refund and that our customer service team has been in touch to offer an explanation. Kind regards, Alice.
