Description
Dark red woven tapestry, inspired by 'The Garden' (1910) by J.H. Dearle (1859–1932) for Morris & Co., embodies the Arts & Crafts movement’s reverence for medieval design and the symbolism of interconnected life. Dearle, a protégé of William Morris, drew on ancient and Renaissance sources to create richly detailed textiles. The dark red ground and intricate foliage evoke the spiritual and artistic ideals of early 20th-century British decorative arts. Woven in Europe, hand-finished in England, and lined for display with integral sleeve for hanging.
