Description
Stained favrile-glass lamp design inspired by the banker’s lamps patented in 1909 by Harrison D. McFaddin in New York. These lamps became iconic fixtures in libraries and offices during the early 20th century, admired for their practical design and softly diffused light. The favrile technique, developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933), introduced iridescent glass that transformed functional objects into works of art. Tiffany’s innovations reflected the Art Nouveau movement’s emphasis on organic forms and luminous colour. This lamp evokes the elegance of Edwardian interiors and the era’s fascination with combining utility and beauty, offering a timeless tribute to early modern design.
