Description
Inspired by the centuries-old Japanese tradition of hanami, this printed candle celebrates the annual viewing of cherry blossoms—a practice that dates back to the Heian period (794–1185). Hanami, meaning “flower viewing,” is a time when families and friends gather beneath blooming sakura trees to appreciate their fleeting beauty, symbolising the transience of life. The custom has inspired countless works of art, poetry, and design in Japan, and its influenceread to the West during the late 19th century, notably shaping the Art Nouveau movement. Please note this candle has a burn time of approximately 45 hours.
