Arts & Crafts Lily Throw

Woven throw based on John Henry Dearle's 'Golden Lily', designed in 1899 in a mix of soft blue, cream and muted earth tones. Though Dearle's tenure as chief designer of Morris & Co. following William Morris's death in 1896 has sometimes been overshadowed by his master's enormous reputation, 'Golden Lily', with its graceful interlacing stems and carefully observed lilies and tulips, demonstrates the full measure of his independent achievement. Wonderful for any admirer of Morris & Co. or the great tradition of British woven textiles.
