Pair of Rose Lavender Pillows

Lavender-filled cotton pillows feature a design inspired by the floral studies of Marianne North (1830–1890), a Victorian botanical artist whose works are preserved at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Lavender, prized since antiquity for its calming properties, became a staple of Victorian domestic life, recommended in household manuals and favoured by Queen Victoria herself. North’s paintings, executed during her global travels, combined scientific accuracy with aesthetic sensitivity, influencing decorative arts and textile design in the Victoria era.
