A sunny jigsaw puzzle-scene of buzzing bees, ladybirds, butterflies, dragonflies, birds and more – all celebrating the biodiversity of British wild flower meadows. The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew estimates that we have lost 97% of native meadow-habitats since the 1930s; recent efforts are now attempting to reverse the decline as gardeners and landowners work to encourage pollinators and the richness of this flower and pollen-filled habitat for generations to come. Reproducing a painting by contemporary, Darlington-based artist Claire Comerford: spot poppies, clover, celandine, wild geraniums and daisies, along with a robin, wren, long-tailed tit, gold finch, blue tit, fox and distant hares. Supporting the work of The British Bee Charity, a UK-based charity founded in 2017 to promote the welfare of bees.
