Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
A sustainable jigsaw puzzle reproducing ‘Beauties of the Swamps at Tulbagh’, c.1882; one of a series of paintings made by pioneering botanical artist Marianne North (1830-90) on her travels in South Africa where she studied and painted plants in their natural habitat. Including Watsonia rosea, arum lilies and fiery Kniphofia abides; the Tulbagh Valley on the Western Cape is still noted for its biodiversity and home to endangered species. A prolific and intrepid artist, over 800 of North’s vivid paintings are displayed in The Marianne North Gallery at Kew. The puzzle is made from FSC accredited paper and board as part of a sustainable jigsaw range with reduced plastic content; the plastic bag holding the puzzle pieces can be recycled. An ideal gift for puzzle enthusiasts passionate about art and nature.
