Fig & Apple Chutney

Delicious fig and apple chutney made to traditional recipes in Kent. Originating in India, 'chatni', was brought home and recipes were adapted to suit British produce and palates. Originally from India, 'chatni' refers to various condiments made from fruits, vegetables, or herbs, often combined with spices, vinegar, or sugar. When the British encountered these flavours during their colonial rule, they adapted 'chatni' to suit their own tastes and available local produce. This adaptation led to the creation of what we now know as chutney in British cuisine. Our Fig & Apple Chutney will make a lovely gift, combining exotic flavours with local craftsmanship.
