Description
Whimsical die-cut Christmas cards with a clever folding stand to display, adapted from festive 1930s advertising by German publishing house, Gräfe und Unzer, founded in Königsberg in 1722. Formed from a series of bookshelves, the Christmas tree-shape, complete with a Nutcracker, pretzel, star and angel candleholder ornaments, echo the traditional Maibaumschilder (Maypole signs) of Bavaria; here arrayed with books rather than civic imagery. The back of the card is printed ‘Season’s Greetings’ and includes space for your own greeting. Supplied flat for posting, the cards will bring the charm of a traditional German Christmas to your loved ones’ homes and festive décor.
