Description
Evocative Christmas cards, reproducing an atmospheric illustration of a city street and an avenue of trees at dusk, with just the suggestion of a London bus and glowing streetlights. The design reproduces a 1918 illustration by Plymouth-born artist Ellis Martin (1881-1977) which was created for the Ordnance Survey as a Christmas card for that year. The first artist to be employed by the Ordnance Survey, Martin produced many illustrations, advertisements and calligraphy for their map and book covers. Recreating the card in a concertina, the pastel-tones of the original are highlighted with glistening glitter details. With space to write on the back, the cards look striking when displayed.

More glitter than you can see in the photo. Good quality cards. Triplefold design is a bit different and suits the lovely illustration of an avenue of trees.
