Description
Elegant Christmas cards reproducing sinuous Art Nouveau-inspired details of stars and winter berries. Adapted from the pioneering pattern book 'Combinations ornementales se multipliant à l'infini à l'aide du miroir', 1900, created as a collaboration between Maurice Pillard Verneuil (1869-1942), George Auriol (1863-1938), and Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Meaning ‘Ornamental Combinations, multipliable to infinity with the aid of a mirror’, the book mixed 60 illustrated plates of decorative motifs, each of which could be viewed with mirrors to create kaleidoscopic effects. Printed on a tactile textured board the Christmas cards are further embellished with glinting gold foil, adding luxury and drama to the striking designs. Sophisticated and unusual designs to celebrate the Christmas season in style.

Although Art Deco, they are not sufficiently Christmassy to be considered as Christmas cards. Perhaps too brash.

Very disappointed. The design may be Voysey but the shiny paper with a lot of shiny gold produces something so bling that the only people on my Christmas card list to whom I might send one are those I actually dislike!
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the finish didn’t meet your expectations. Kind regards, Alice.
