Elegant Christmas cards, reproducing a painting from 1890 by Finnish artist Ferdinand von Wright (1822-1906); now part of The Medici Society archive, founded 1908. Embellished with shimmering, iridescent details with biodegradable glitter, the charm of bullfinches perch in the branches of a rowan tree, an ancient symbol planted to promote protection and believed to ward off ill fortune. Bullfinches are also considered to be a propitious bird; in Japan, they are celebrated during the Usokae festival each January: carved, wooden bullfinches are exchanged to bring good luck for the year ahead. An atmospheric snowscape to send love and luck to your family throughout the Christmas season.
