10 Annunciation Christmas Cards

Opulent Christmas cards which reproduce a richly illuminated page from an Italian Book of Hours, c.1485, attributed to the manuscript painter known as Master of Riccardiana 231. Set within a luxuriantly decorated border, the manuscript illustrates the Annunciation, a smaller inset detail of the Nativity, alongside details of two prophets. Echoing the rich gilding of the original manuscript, the cards are embellished with intricate gold foil details, highlighting the flowers, fruit and frames of the image. Reproduced at a generous size, the cards allow your recipients to enjoy the abundant details of the border, which includes winged cherubim and peacocks, a bird associated with the resurrection and eternal life in Christian art.
