A graceful wall calendar featuring exquisite botanical watercolours by Charlotte Cowan Pearson (1837-1917). The supremely talented amateur artist painted, largely, in Scotland and Yorkshire and the images are selected from an album, dating to the 1860s, now in the collection of the Royal Botanic Garden's Library. 12 richly coloured and finely detailed studies of British wildflowers and plants. Capturing the beautiful textures and forms of seasonal wildflower groupings. Includes the evocatively named bugle, self-heal and Good King Henry; bird’s foot trefoil, vetch and corydalis; and meadowsweet, vervain, fern and moss; plus Scottish bluebells, hawthorn, scabious, dog rose, clover and wood sorrel. Dainty, detailed illustrations and soft, painterly colours will inspire all year round.
