A graceful wall calendar featuring exquisite botanical watercolours by Charlotte Cowan Pearson (1837-1917). The supremely talented amateur artist painted, largely, in Scotland and Yorkshire and the images are selected from botanical albums, dating to the 1860s-80s, now in the collection of the Royal Botanic Garden's Library. 12 richly coloured and finely detailed studies of British wildflowers and plants. Capturing the beautiful textures and forms of seasonal wildflower groupings. Includes ‘Common Honeysuckle’, 1867; ‘Giant Bellflower’, 1864; and studies of poppies, 1864-67; alongside evocatively named plants, such as moonwort fern, hedge parsley, biting stonecrop, Scot’s lovage, milkwort, and many others. Dainty, detailed illustrations and soft, painterly colours will inspire all year round.
