Description
Our indulgent, fruit-rich recipe is handmade in Shropshire and baked with sultanas, apple, apricots, figs, dates, walnuts and treacle. This fruit cake would make a delicious gift to a friend in a hamper as well as treat for yourself at afternoon tea. Enjoy on its own or, following the fine tradition of Lancashire and Yorkshire, it is even better enjoyed with a mature Cheddar or Stilton and a glass of Port. Fruitcakes began to emerge in the late 17th century among the wealthy, enriched with sweetness and dried fruit, and they remain one of Britain’s favourite cakes today.

This cake was amazing! So full of fruit, a lovely rich texture and so tasty. It wasn't cheap to buy but well worth the money as was full of great quality ingredients. I definitely recommend and would buy again. No photo I am afraid as it has all gone after a visit from friends!
