Marigold Chocolate Chip Biscuit Barrel

Smart barrel filled with chocolate chip biscuits, decorated with William Morris's 'Marigold' design, first produced in 1875. 'Marigold' was among Morris's most technically demanding early textile designs, produced using the painstaking indigo-discharge and block-printing methods he had revived and perfected at his Merton Abbey works in a direct challenge to the cheap aniline dyes and mechanical printing of the industrial textile trade. Lovely for any admirer of William Morris, and a beautiful tin to keep long after the biscuits have been enjoyed.
