Description
Brighten any border with spring colour all year round with this jolly, painted iron bird feeder recalling the whimsical pieces created in the 19th century. Abraham Darby (1678-1717) improved the production of iron by using coke made from coal to fuel furnaces rather than charcoal, enabling pieces to be mass produced. By the 19th century cast iron wares were popular for the middle classes, recalled in this pretty bird feeder. Petite, it can be placed in a border or secured in a planter to encourage birds into your garden.

A very nice addition to my garden, sturdy, well made, very easy to assemble and a welcome brilliant splash of colour in the garden. The small birds quickly found it and are visiting regularly.
