Description
Christmas cards that celebrate the colour and form of winter plants and flowers, from British natives such as holly, mistletoe, ivy, yew and hellebores to once-exotic Chinese winter jasmine and Mexican poinsettias. Reproducing a festive selection of 20th and 21st century paintings by popular British artists, drawn from the archives of Royle Publications. Includes ‘Winter Posy’ by James Noble (1919–89), ‘Christmas Beauty’ by Albert Williams (1922–2010), and paintings by Leslie Greenwood (1907–87), Charles Barker (British, 20th century) and Eleanor Ludgate (b.1950). co-founded by visionary publisher Noel Carrington (1895–1989), Royle Publications was one of the leading British greetings card companies in the post-war era.
