Beautiful pop-up cards presenting an exquisite layered ‘planting’ of spring and summer flowers, all flowering at once. The imaginative design includes tulips, irises and daffodils with poppies, sunflowers, hydrangeas and delphiniums in a bravura display to delight any gardener. Popularised by the influential garden designer Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932), the depth and structure of herbaceous borders echoed an Arts and Crafts spirit of more naturalistic planting and replaced the Victorian fashion for carpet bedding with a style much-copied and loved to this day. Ingeniously created as a three-dimensional diorama within a bottle-shaped card – echoing the scrimshaw artform of ‘ships in bottles’ - the garden scene is created from six laser-cut layers. Simply press the sides of the card together and the design pops up from flat. Supplied flat for posting. With a blank space for your message on the back and perfect for occasions all year round.
