Description
An atmospheric Christmas card-showcase of a diverse mix of fine art images. Exploring winter in all its forms: from frozen landscapes to winter activities and wildlife. Spanning the 18th to 20th centuries, the designs mix the techniques and media of oil and watercolour painting, prints and etchings. Evocative designs include a detail from 'Now It's Christmas Again', 1907, by Carl Larsson (Swedish, 1853-1919); 'Love of Winter', 1914, by American artist George Wesley Bellows (1882-1925); an etching of Guillemots and Auks from 'Birds of America', 1827-37; 'Winter Amusement: A View in Hyde Park from the Moated House', from an aquatint by Julius Caesar Ibbetson (1759-1817); and a detail of Holly, 1915, by Hannah Borger Overbeck (American, 1870-1931).
